Assessment FAQ
Select the correct year group assessment for your child. e.g. If your child is in year 4, then please select year 4 assessment.
We recommend that your child sits the four assessments in four different sittings. It is possible to do more than one assessment in one sitting, but for optimal results you would be better advised to split them up.
Your child has only one attempt at each assessment, so please make sure they are fully prepared.
The assessments vary in length from 35 minutes to 75 minutes, and are strictly timed. Students can see how long they have left on a timer which is visible during the assessments.
As with the ISEB Pre-Test, there is no going back once you have started the test. Please make sure your child knows not to hit the back button or refresh, or else their assessment attempt will be voided.
We recommend that your child has a pen and paper to hand, although this is not obligatory.
You will receive email confirmation once your child has completed each test. This email will contain a link to your detailed assessment feedback. This feedback can also be found on the assessment page on the website.
The assessment feedback contains a breakdown of how your child performed in each topic, subtopic and question type. This is an invaluable tool for any tutoring you may wish your child to undertake.
Once your child has completed all the tests in their year group assessment, you will be sent a confirmation email with your child’s overall score. This score can then be used to match your child’s potential to a suitable school or schools.
Once you have your child’s overall score, you should then go to our Schools Search page. Here, you can search for suitable schools using our advanced filters feature. Search for schools by location, boarding type, academic success, leavers’ destinations and many more.
